It was like experience of a life time going camping this time at Sai Kung Wan Chai, which was made extraordinary by the scale of heavy rain we encountered. The three day camp was cut short to two as a result. Friday Day 1 0800 On the 1st day of the Easter holiday we gathered at Wan Chai HKIR Scout HQ with 18th HKG 0930 We set off for Wong Shek Pier on a coach. 1030 Arrive at Wong Shek for the ferry to Wan Chai 1130 Sorta worn out by the transport of goods to and fro the pier and campsite, while others start camp building. 1300 Lunch time - three pieces of cake bought from 7-11 in the morning, superkids arrive 1400 Continued to help with the superkids campsite then took a break. 1800 Dinner time - Fish ball, crab sticks, chicken sausage japanese noodles was a quick option I chose, while others enjoy their ourdoor cooking session with coalfire 2000 After a very nice cold shower, got back for camplight song time 2010 Heavy rain and thunderstorm arrive as forecasted by fellow camper 2030 Panicked and started packing all personal belongings after the tents interior were starting to flood, anticipating for evacuation 2130 Got out of the flooded tent and headed for our tiny shelter Saturday Day 2 0430 Got too tired and moved into superkid's empty tent for a nap 0630 Rain stopped and got up for breakfast (Curry chicken and noodles) Continued to pack up 1000 Prepare for short games for superkids 1300 Lunch - Curry chicken with rice vermicelli 1400 Pack up (4 out of 6 tents were abandoned) 1530 Depart from campsite 1700 Ferry to Wong Shek 1730 Coach from Wong Shek 1830 Arrive back at HKIR HQ |
